Why cell quality matters at this level

Post-thaw viability determines whether cells are functional upon delivery. The industry minimum most suppliers report is 85%. Our lots test at 98% or above, verified by independent third-party analysis on every production run.

HLA-DR expression determines immunological compatibility. Our UCT-MSCs are HLA-DR negative, which removes the need for donor-recipient matching in allogeneic applications.

What are UCT-MSCs?

Umbilical Cord Tissue-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

UCT-MSCs are multipotent stromal cells derived from Wharton's jelly within the umbilical cord, collected non-invasively at consenting donors' delivery. They carry low HLA expression and a strong secretome, which is why they're the source we standardized on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can purchase MSC Centers products?

MSC Centers supplies licensed professionals only: physicians and clinicians, research scientists and academic institutions, and licensed veterinarians. Products are not sold to the general public. Product and technical information on this site is open to read with no registration required.

What documentation is available for each lot?

Each production lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis covering NTA particle sizing, sterility (USP <71>), endotoxin (LAL), mycoplasma (PCR), flow cytometry surface markers, and viability results. Full documentation is published in our Technical Documentation section, and the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis ships with every order.

Why does post-thaw viability matter at 98% versus 85%?

At 85% viability, 15 of every 100 delivered cells are non-functional and can interfere with paracrine signaling. At 98%, delivered cells are overwhelmingly functional, which matters directly for research dosing and clinical use.
